The collaboration between Dalia Perez and Ralph Salazar started in early February of 2012. Beginning with a simple request from Dalia to Ralph with help in material experimentation, the art making duo quickly grew into a full fledged team of art production. Dalia, originally from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, has been drawing since the early age of 5 as a means of psychological survival. Ralph, from Diamond Bar, California, approaches art making as more of a recent means of determined dialogue. Although both artists are traditionally trained, they both progressed to a point of visual digression, using abstract terms as a vehicle to reveal and unravel their perception of painting and art. Obsession, volition, and the unconscious are just a couple of the themes touched upon by these two young artists. Scheduled to graduate from School of Visual Arts in 2014 with Bachelor’s Degrees, Dalia and Ralph plan to work together for as long as they please.
